During pregnancy
A full-body massage built around pregnancy
For nine months the body works without pause, and every ounce of attention turns towards the one who is growing. Massage Future Maman turns that around for an hour: a full-body prenatal massage, given by Laura in Clermont-Ferrand, where the only person being looked after is you.
Its first effect is calming and restorative for the nervous system. The strokes are slow and enveloping, tuned to what you are going through and to what you are carrying.
It is also a chance to meet this changing body again, to inhabit it differently — and to take a pause before everything speeds up.
✦ Training & expertise
Trained in Ayurvedic prenatal massage
Laura trained in Ayurvedic prenatal massage in Paris in 2019, after earning her CAP in beauty therapy and her CQP in massage at the École Fournier in Vichy in 2018.
Prenatal massage calls for constant adjustment: positioning, pressure and the areas worked all shift with the trimester, with how comfortable you are that day, and with what you actually want. It is a protocol built with you, not a fixed sequence.
The prenatal massage offered here is a wellbeing and comfort treatment. It does not replace the pregnancy care provided by your midwife, obstetrician or doctor, and is not intended to diagnose or treat anything.
Who it's for & why
Prenatal massage is for anyone who is pregnant, from the 4th month through to term.
- ✦Heavy legs: a draining effect that gets lymphatic circulation moving
- ✦Eased lower-back pain
- ✦The body gently mobilised
- ✦Released tension in the shoulders and neck
- ✦Better sleep, with fewer night wakings caused by physical tension
- ✦Time to reconnect with your body and how it is changing
What happens · 60 or 90 minutes
A session built with you
- 1
One-to-one conversation
· beforeA moment to talk before anything begins: how you're feeling, where the tension sits, how far along you are. This is also when to say if you'd rather an area was left alone — the belly, for instance. That is entirely possible and takes nothing away from the treatment.
- 2
Getting comfortable
· settling inYou settle onto the massage table in whichever position suits you, supported by the pregnancy cushion. That cushion is what makes a full session possible: it follows the shape of the body and takes away the uncomfortable pressure points.
- 3
Guided breathing
· openingThe massage opens with a few guided breaths. A short settling-in that steadies the breath and lets the nervous system start to let go.
- 4
The back, lying on your side
· main workThe strokes begin with the back, using an oil formulated specifically for pregnancy. You lie on your side, supported by the pregnancy cushion — the position that allows the back and lower back to be worked deeply, at any stage of pregnancy.
- 5
The rest of the body, lying back
· main workThe massage continues on the front of the body, with the cushion under your knees if that helps the lower back. Legs, arms, shoulders — and the belly only if you want it included.
- 6
Neck, scalp — and face in the 90-minute session
· closingThe session finishes with a neck and scalp massage. In the 90-minute protocol, a facial massage can be added as well.
- 7
A gentle return, with crystal bowls
· wakingA slow waking sequence guided by voice and crystal singing bowls, followed by a few rousing strokes along the back to finish.
- 8
Organic infusion and quiet time
· afterYou don't leave straight away: an organic herbal infusion and a quiet moment before heading back out.

Frequently asked
You might be wondering...
How many months pregnant do I need to be for a prenatal massage?+
Prenatal massage starts from the 4th month of pregnancy. The first three months are still a fragile period, during which the embryo completes its implantation, so as a precaution no massage is offered before the end of the first trimester. Past that point, massage becomes genuinely supportive — it arrives just as the body starts to visibly change and the first aches appear in the back, legs and neck. If you're unsure about your exact stage, or if there is anything particular about your pregnancy, mention it when you book: the session will be adapted, or postponed if that is the safer call.
Can I still be massaged right up to the end of my pregnancy?+
Yes, prenatal massage can continue through to term. The only thing to bear in mind is that some positions become less comfortable late on — lying on your back for a long stretch, for example. That's why the 60-minute format often suits the final weeks better: the session is still complete, but each position is held for less time. There is no contraindication tied to how far along you are, and both the set-up and the sequence are adjusted to how you feel on the day, with the pregnancy cushion doing much of the work.
I'd like a prenatal massage but I don't want my belly touched. Is that possible?+
Yes, absolutely. A prenatal massage is not necessarily a belly massage: that area can be left out entirely in favour of others that may relax you more — the back, the legs, the neck, the scalp. The belly is a very intimate area, more so during pregnancy, and your practitioner will always ask for your agreement before working there. You don't need to explain your choice, and it can change from one session to the next.
Does my baby benefit from the massage too?+
No scientific study demonstrates a direct benefit of massage on the baby, and it would be dishonest to claim otherwise. The indirect effect is real, though: massage improves the mother's wellbeing, reduces physical tension and helps her sleep better. It is also a moment when attention turns fully to the body's sensations and to what is happening inside, which nourishes the bond with the baby. On that basis, it is time that does the mother good and can, indirectly, make for a calmer pregnancy.
Are the products used safe during pregnancy?+
Yes. Laura uses an oil formulated specifically for pregnancy: allergen-free, with no essential oils and no controversial ingredients — essential oils being inadvisable during pregnancy, they are excluded from the protocol entirely. It is also a treatment oil in its own right: deeply nourishing and softening, which eases the tightness and itching across the belly that so often come as it grows. If you have a known allergy or particularly reactive skin, do say so when you book.
The oil used during the session is a massage oil formulated for pregnancy, free from allergens and essential oils — more at skinhaptics.com.
